The Dewalt DW745 is a well-engineered portable jobsite table saw that will cater to a wide range of projects. Whether you’re a professional or an amateur this fantastic 10″ compact saw has been thoughtfully designed for the end user. This shouldn’t come as a surprise if you’ve used Dewalt tools in the past because designing heavy-duty power tools is what Dewalt is known for and thankfully, the Dewalt DW745 is no different.
As with most job-site table saws on the market, the DWE7491RS comes with a rolling stand included in the box. The wheels are pretty heavy-duty and capable of handling rough terrain and even staircases I experienced no problems with. Besides the easy transportation, you can store you saw upright in its folded position in your van to save space. The same goes for your workshop of course.
The DEWALT DW745 is a smaller version of the DEWALT DWE7491RS. It’s still a good saw in its own right. It comes with a 15-amp motor, just like the larger unit, though it can only handle rips of up to 20 inches. You’ll experience the same power and consequently, the same speed as the larger model, though you can’t cut pieces as large. This model is also meant to be moved, and while it doesn’t have wheels, it has a metal roll cage that will help it survive travel without taking any damage.
The continuous-read, tape measure–type scale is ingenious and easy to read, and Ridgid’s lifetime warranty covers it against breakage. The Ridgid saw has the most versatile miter gauge with holes and slots for mounting extensions and accessories. The designers have cleverly fashioned the stand to also serve as a left-side outfeed support for ripping plywood.
